Deploying the Application on KVM

This topic describes how to deploy the application as a virtual machine on a KVM host using an existing image.

Prerequisites

Ensure that the KVM host meets the following minimum requirements:

  • CPUs: 8

  • Memory: 64 GB

  • Disk:

    • Minimum of 1064 GB storage

    • Thin-provisioned disk

    • Sustained read/write throughput of at least 160 MB/sec

    • Allocating more than 1064 GB of disk is permitted if required

Deployment Steps

  1. Launch the KVM graphical interface by running the following command: virt-manager

  2. In the KVM GUI, select File > New Virtual Machine.

  3. Choose Import Existing Image, and then click Forward.

  4. Select the required virtual disk image with the .qcow2 extension and choose the appropriate operating system.

  5. Configure the CPU and memory settings according to the deployment requirements.

  6. Review the virtual machine configuration and verify that all settings are correct.

  7. Complete the wizard to create the virtual machine.

Post-Deployment

After deployment, the virtual machine starts automatically and can be monitored and managed through the KVM GUI.
