How Discovery Works

Nutanix Integration connects to the Nutanix platform using REST APIs v1 and v2 with Prism Element, or REST API v4 with Prism Central.

The entities discovered by this integration are Nutanix Prism Central, Nutanix Cluster, Nutanix Storage Node, Nutanix Host, Nutanix Virtual Machine, Nutanix Virtual Disk, Nutanix Host Network Interface and Nutanix Virtual Machine Network Interface.

In addition, the Nutanix v4 integration supports auto-discovered clusters. Any cluster listed under Configuration with the device configuration property Is Entity Auto Discovered set to true is treated as an auto-discovered cluster. The integration automatically discovers and creates configurations for all such clusters managed by the connected Prism Central instance. Auto-discovered cluster configurations are system-generated and are not intended to be edited by users. Only configurations with Is Entity Auto Discovered set to false are considered user-managed configurations and can be created, modified, or deleted by users.
