Prerequisites for IO Data to Appear in Global View

This section outlines the prerequisites required for (IO) data to appear successfully in Global View.

Prerequisites

  1. VCS Service Activation

    • Requirement The Virtual Connect Service (VCS) must be running.

    • Purpose Ensures backend integration services are operational.

  2. Data Metric

    • Requirement At least one integration in (IO) should successfully collect data metrics (collection/discovery must occur without issues).

    • Purpose Guarantees that (IO) is capturing essential data for monitoring.

  3. Configured Alarm Display

    • Requirement: An alarm must be configured in (IO) and displayed on the Virtana Platform (VP) side.

    • Purpose: Confirms proper synchronization of alarm data between (IO) and Global View.

  4. Virtana Platform Account and Credentials

    • Requirement: Ensure you have an active Virtana Platform account and have generated OAuth client credentials.

    • Steps to Generate Credentials

      1. Log in to your Virtana Platform account.

      2. Navigate to Integrations → Virtana Platform API.

      3. Click Generate OAuth Client Credentials.

      4. Provide a name and optional description, and then click Save.

  5. Alarm and Application Configuration

    • Requirement: Alarms must be tied to applications in (IO).

      Tip

      Alarms unrelated to applications will not sync with Global View.

    • Important

      Capacity Check: If the number of applications exceeds 100, notify engineering for capacity planning.
