Global View post-installation
This section gives a quick summary of the post-installation tasks for Virtana Global View. Users can follow the sections for initial access, then move to the optional sections based on the features they want to enable.
Access the application
This section explains how the initial administrator signs in to Virtana Global View after installation. Follow these steps to activate the account and reach the Global View dashboard.
Check the administrator's email inbox for a message with the subject Welcome to Virtana.
Open the email and click the Confirm Registration link.
Set a password when prompted.
Log in using the email address configured in the
input.envfile underINITIAL_ADMIN_USER_EMAIL.After successful authentication, you will be redirected to the Virtana Global View dashboard.
Note
Run the following command to retrieve the invitation URL if you did not receive the invitation email.
/usr/local/bin/virtana/get-invitation-url.sh
You can now proceed to integrate Container Observability (CO) or Infrastructure Observability (IO) with Global View.
Integrate Infrastructure Observability with Global View
Use this section to view the procedure for connecting Infrastructure Observability with Global View. Use it when your deployment requires infrastructure-level monitoring and unified visibility in the Global View platform. See IO to GV Integration for details.
Enable Additional GrowthBook Feature Flags (optional)
GrowthBook and its default configurations are automatically activated upon installing Global View. You only need to perform this step if you want to turn on feature flags beyond the standard defaults. You should only enable additional feature flags if a specific feature you need is controlled through GrowthBook and must be explicitly turned on for your environment. For detailed configuration steps, refer to GrowthBook Feature Flags.
Configure Virtana AI requirements (optional)
Use it to enable Virtana AI capabilities if your environment includes the required dependencies, and you want to configure AI-assisted platform features. See Configure Virtana AI for details.
Configure SSO (optional)
This section is for organizations that want centralized authentication through Single Sign-On. Use it after basic administrator access is confirmed and identity provider details are ready. See Using SSO for details.
