Introducing Virtual Editions

The Virtual Editions consist of either an Open Virtual Appliance (OVA) file or a Virtual Hard Disk (VHDX) file that contains essentially the same software stack that comes pre-loaded on a Platform Appliance. These files are meant to be deployed in your VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V environment as virtual machines.

The Virtual Editions are available as either

  1. (VMware and Hyper-V) A single-node deployment (classic Virtual Edition).

  2. VMware a single-node deployment with additional resource requirements to replace the IO Platform Appliance 4220.
