Comparison of Services

Container Observability enables you to compare the performance of services for a selected timeframe.

You can view and compare the previous performance of each entity for the following type:

  • Deployment

  • ReplicaSet

  • Service

Comparing the performance of each entity

This topic helps you to choose the required entity and compare them to analyze the previous behavior of services through widgets between two selected time frames.

To compare, you need to perform the steps:

  1. Log in to the Container Observability Application.

  2. On the sidebar menu, click Service and select comparison.

  3. Choose the required namespace, kind, and type of entity.

  4. Select the two different dates and times as per your requirement.

  5. Click Compare. The metric widgets will be displayed.

Metric comparison widgets describe the following:

  • Entity's performance with high-level metrics for a selected time frame.

  • Increase or decrease in latency of traffic requests encountered during peak and off-peak hours.

  • The number of requests made to the services from the previous to the current interval of time.

  • You can visualize the previous traffic flow incoming or outgoing from each service to other services.

  • Also represents the available Pods and their behavior in each service compared to the previous and current state.
