Integrating IO with Global View - At a Glance

This section outlines the step-by-step process required for (IO) integration to appear successfully in Global View. The instructions cover setup and configuration to ensure a seamless connection.

  1. VCS Service Activation

    • Ensure (IO) can connect to the Virtana Platform or the cloud environment.

  2. Install or Upgrade VCS (Virtual Connect Service)

    • Upgrade Verify the current VCS build.

    • Fresh Install

      • Download the latest VCS bundle from the UPD repository.

  3. Configure VCS Integration Parameters

    • Set the following parameters on the (IO)-VCS integration service:

      • com.vi.integrations.vcs.platform.region=<region or leave blank>

      • com.vi.integrations.vcs.platform.datacenter=<datacenter or leave blank>

      • com.vi.integrations.vcs.tls.trust_all_certs=true

      • com.vi.integrations.vcs.iframe.cross.origin.allow.url=true

      • com.vi.integrations.vcs.keycloak.sso.support.vw=true

  4. Configure UI Service Parameters

    • Set the following parameters:

      • vw.vp_base_url=&lt;GLOBAL VIEW URL<(e.g., https://vpsup.k8s.vi.local/)

      • com.vi.vp.tls.trust_all_certs=true

      • com.vi.iframe.cross.origin.allow.url=<GLOBAL VIEW URL>

      • com.vi.ui.filters.exclusions.enable=true

      • com.vi.keyclock.newuser.role=vw-admin

      • com.vi.ui.enable.debug.options=true

      • com.vi.keycloak.server.url=<Keycloak server URL>

  5. Enable CloudSync

    Use the generated credentials (ClientID and Secret) at:

    • https://<IPM appliance>/#settings/connect-to-virtana-platform

    • Confirm the connection succeeds.

  6. Define Alarms and Applications

    • Ensure alarms are tied to applications and not generic entities.
