What is the Virtana Platform?

The Virtana Platform is an AI-powered observability solution for hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure and applications. It helps enterprises monitor, optimize, and automate performance and cost across complex IT environments. You can deploy the platform as a SaaS (software as a service) solution, on-premises, or in the cloud.

The platform brings infrastructure visibility, analytics, and operational intelligence into a single environment so that you can manage complex IT ecosystems with greater clarity and control. It simplifies the migration, deployment, and ongoing optimization of hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

The Virtana Platform delivers observability across both on-premises infrastructure and cloud environments, so IT teams can monitor workloads wherever they run. It gathers high-definition, granular operational data from across the stack to give you insight into system behavior and performance patterns. The platform then analyzes this data with AIOps (Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations) analytics, powered by machine learning (ML) and advanced data analysis, to detect anomalies, identify trends, and generate actionable insights that support proactive decision-making.

These capabilities help you maintain consistent performance and high availability across your environments and optimize cost and resource capacity as workloads scale. The platform also supports governance and compliance requirements, so your teams can maintain policy alignment and operational accountability across hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructures. By combining observability, analytics, and operational governance in a single application, the Virtana Platform helps you manage cloud complexity and make informed infrastructure decisions.

Key modules

The Virtana Platform is organized into modules that deliver observability, operational intelligence, and cost optimization across hybrid environments. Each module focuses on a specific layer of your stack, and together they provide a unified view of your applications, infrastructure, and cloud resources.

Global View

Virtana Global View is the command center of the Virtana Platform. It provides a centralized, unified dashboard for monitoring and managing performance across your entire application and infrastructure. From a single interface, you can monitor systems, analyze performance trends, and respond to issues.Global View

Global View consolidates insights from on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments into a single, unified view. It supports multi-tenant architectures and complex organizational hierarchies, which makes it well suited for enterprises and managed service providers that manage multiple customers, departments, or business units within the same platform. The dashboard continuously surfaces real-time operational intelligence, including metrics, events, alerts, and governance signals, so your teams can quickly detect anomalies, address potential issues, and keep infrastructure performance, reliability, and compliance aligned with your objectives.

Infrastructure Observability

Virtana Infrastructure Observability (IO) offers in-depth observability of on-premises and cloud infrastructure and provides real-time alerts and analytics to ensure optimal system health and performance. It gives you the visibility to maintain performance, stability, and operational efficiency across your IT environments.

Infrastructure Observability collects and correlates metrics from a wide range of infrastructure layers, including storage area network (SAN) and network-attached storage (NAS) systems, compute resources, hypervisors, and network infrastructure. To support proactive operations, it surfaces real-time alerts and interactive dashboards that highlight key indicators for capacity, performance, and overall system health. Infrastructure Observability also integrates with Global View to deliver unified, cross-stack visibility across infrastructure and application environments.

Application Observability

Application Observability integrates all your application performance data—metrics, traces, logs, and events—with a comprehensive view of your hybrid infrastructure. This unified approach lets you trace the impact on users back to the precise system issue, so you don't need to switch between multiple tools.

AI Factory Observability

AI Factory Observability provides real-time insight into every layer of your AI ecosystem, from GPUs to large language models (LLMs) and agentic workflows. By connecting performance, cost, and efficiency metrics across the stack, it helps you keep operations resilient and outcomes predictable, so you can deploy new AI capabilities with confidence.

Service Observability

Virtana Service Observability offers real-time, service-level visibility across your IT stack so your teams can manage the health of your service and triage incidents. It collects and correlates metrics, events, logs, and dependency data to give you a unified view of service health, so your teams can manage service health and triage incidents.

Service Observability uses dynamic service modeling to automatically map dependencies across servers, networks, databases, middleware, and enterprise applications. This mapping enables rapid root-cause analysis by showing how one component affects others. With extensible data collection through collection zones and ZenPacks, Service Observability supports a wide range of protocols—including SNMP, ICMP, SSH, HTTP, and SQL—to monitor almost any infrastructure element. Key capabilities include a smart event console for intelligent alert management, customizable dashboards, inventory and topology views, site availability monitoring (SAM), and service impact analysis that prioritizes issues by business impact.

Container Observability

Virtana Container Observability (CO) uses telemetry data to gain deep insights into the health and performance of your containerized applications and microservices in real time. Proactively identify the root causes of issues in your container environments. As containerized workloads become more dynamic and distributed, Container Observability helps your teams understand how applications behave across clusters and keep performance, reliability, and resource use optimized.

Container Observability continuously monitors the performance and health of Kubernetes workloads at the application, pod, and container levels. To speed up analysis and troubleshooting, it offers visualization tools such as AppMap and NodeMap, which illustrate application dependencies and infrastructure relationships. Data Explorer and System Status views provide detailed access to operational metrics and system conditions. Container Observability also enables topology-aware troubleshooting, so your teams can drill down into specific workloads and infrastructure components when investigating issues.

Cloud Cost Management

Virtana The Cloud Cost Management Optimization Module helps manage and optimize cloud costs. It provides detailed insights into cloud expenditure, tracks usage, and offers recommendations for optimizing resource allocation to reduce unnecessary costs.

Cloud Cost Management tracks and analyzes cloud expenditure across accounts and services. By continuously evaluating usage patterns, it identifies waste and opportunities for rightsizing, so your cloud resources stay aligned with actual demand and business requirements. Cloud Cost Management also recommends specific changes that reduce unnecessary costs without compromising performance or availability.
