User Groups

In Virtana Platform, the User Groups tab is accessed from the Users Management tab under the Settings sprocket on the title bar.

You must have administrator privileges to access any of the functionality under Settings.

From this tab you can do the following:

  • View a list of existing user groups

  • Create new User Groups

    Click Create User Group, enter a user group name, enter a brief description, select the relevant role, select the data access group, and click Save.

  • Note

    Choose the relevant data access group (DAG) to assign access to specific resources such as Infrastructure Observability appliances or Container Observability clusters.

  • Note

    Select the Enable Dynamic SSO Mapping toggle and enter the relevant SSO group/claim ID.

  • Edit/delete a user group

    Click the action menu under that Actions column and select Edit to edit the user group, or select Delete to delete the user group from the organization.

  • Note

    You can delete most user groups, except for the following default system groups that come with the application out of the box:

    • MSP Administrators

    • Administrators

    • Readers

    • Data Ingesters
