Types of Services in Apps Map

In the Container Observability platform, the observability of services is subjected to Public or Private Internet operating within and outside the cluster.

Public

The applications operating within the Kubernetes cluster like Prometheus, frontend, and cloud applications are subjected to a public network. You can monitor the traffic flow between their dependent services within the cluster. Container Observability identifies the private apps with the help of IP addresses or connection flow.

Private

Private applications are operated outside the Kubernetes cluster where the network is hosted or contains private networks. Private applications represent the number of IP addresses inside the network. Private service contains private IP addresses and Container Observability can provide only moderate details of the particular apps even if they are operating outside the Kubernetes cluster.

Note

Note : In the Apps Map, you can filter the namespace in Filter bar to view private applications operating in the cluster.
