Disabling SSH Access

The Appliance supports Secure Shell (SSH) access for use by authorized Virtana personnel when troubleshooting issues. Support for SSH is enabled by default, but you can disable SSH if you prefer.

  1. From the Settings tab, click Remote Access.

    The RemoteWisdom page is displayed.

  2. Click SSH to access the SSH page.

  3. Uncheck the Enable SSH Access check box.

  4. Click Save.

    A confirmation dialog displays.

  5. Click OK to confirm and return to the SSH page.

Auto disabling SSH Access

  1. From the Settings tab, click Remote Access. The RemoteWisdom page is displayed.

  2. Click SSH to access the SSH page.

  3. Check 'Enable SSH Access' without selecting a timeout intervals to enable SSH access permanently

  4. Select 'Automatically disable IPM SSH access after' with a timeout interval to specify how long the SSH access should be enabled. For example if a user opts to automatically disable SSH access after '5' hours then SSH access will be enabled for only the specified duration of 5 hours. Once the timeout interval is complete, access is removed. Click Save.

  5. Select a new timeout interval to update the current set timeout. Click Save. In this case, auto disabling SSH access will be rescheduled to the new set timeout interval.

  6. Unselect 'Enable SSH Access'. Click Save. This will cause SSH access to be immediately disabled even if the timeout period is not yet complete.

Note: If a service restarts during a preset SSH interval, then SSH access will be enabled for the remaining time. If the time interval had already elapsed, then SSH access would be removed immediately.
