Performing Backups and Restores
Use the Backup and Restore feature to back up your IO database. The back up feature saves settings, integration configurations, saved content, and configured users. You can set a backup schedule or perform an immediate backup.
Select Backup and Restore from the Settings page.
Performing a backup
Use the Backup page to specify a location, mount type, user info, number of backups to maintain (Backups Cycle), advanced options based on the mount type, and schedule. Note : With IO 7.2.4 Release an option to schedule the backup "Every Day" has been introduced.
Note
For customers who have deployed more than one Appliance or Virtual Edition instance, it is recommended that separate share drives are used to back up each instance.
Performing a restore
Select the Restore button to perform a restore of your IO database. You’ll need to select a backup file to use in the restoration process.
Upload Local Files
This option enables users to select a file from their local system for upload onto the appliance. The file is directed to the '/data/local_backups' directory, facilitating the restoration of local backups.
Click on the 'Upload Local File' button and select the desired file in the .tax format.
Note
Display an error message if a file other than '.tax' is selected, guiding the user to choose a valid '.tax' file.
Additionally, disable the 'Upload Local File' option while a file is currently uploading to prevent multiple uploads simultaneously and ensure orderly file transfers.
Upon completion of the upload process, automatically initiate a reload or refresh action for the restore-grid. This ensures that the newly uploaded file is reflected in the restore interface for seamless restoration operations.
During the file upload process, provide real-time feedback indicating the upload status as 'Uploading..' and the hostname as 'Checking'.
Upon successful completion of the upload, present a notification confirming the backup status as 'Success'.Additionally, display details such as the backup size, backup version, backup date, and the hostname as 'Vi-appliance', indicating a successful upload process.
Note
Backups are not available for Kubernetes installations.
