Outbound Mail (SMTP)

The Outbound Email (SMTP) task on the Settings page enables you to configure settings for outbound emails. The outbound email server is used for SAN alarm notification. IPM also uses it to notify users configured with the admin role of any VI infrastructure issues, such as a loss of communication to a Performance Probe.

Email notifications are not distributed to configured users until the user has logged into IPM for the first time.
