Example: Exporting a Certificate from a Chrome Browser

  1. Connect through a browser to the server from which you want to get a certificate.

  2. Click the button immediately to the left of the URL field to view site information.

    In Chrome, the button should display “Not secure”.

  3. Click Certificate.

  4. Click the Details tab and the Copy to File button.

    The Certificate Export Wizard opens.

  5. Click Next.

  6. Select Base-64 encoded X.509 (.CER) and then click Next.

  7. Click Browse and navigate to the folder in which you want to save the file.

  8. Assign a file name with a .cer extension and click Save.

    The full file name displays.

  9. Click Next, and then click Finish to complete the wizard.

  10. Close the Certificate window and navigate to the folder to which you exported the certificate file and verify the file is there.
