Deploying the Virtual Edition OVA

The VirtualWisdom Virtual Edition is installed as a Virtual Machine (VM) using an OVA file.

These instructions are intended for someone who knows how to deploy within VMware® vCenter™.

The VirtualWisdom OVA is configured for 1064 GB, but Virtual Edition versions prior to 6.2.0 require adjustments in your VMware environment. Detailed instructions for editing hardware settings are available online from VMware.

VMs for VirtualWisdom are supported on ESXi 6.0 or greater and require VMware hardware version 11. VirtualWisdom cannot be deployed or updated on ESXi versions earlier than 6.0.

  1. Ensure that the host server has sufficient resources to support running the VirtualWisdom VM.

    See Required Resources.

  2. Deploy the OVA

    • Accept the default CPU and memory allocations.

    • Select a data store with sufficient space and performance.

    • Configure the network settings to connect the vNIC to the virtual switch with access to infrastructure to be monitored.
