Assess Calculated Move Group Output

The Move Groups tabs provide detailed information about the move groups in a project and the dependencies among and between the applications and compute instances in the move groups.

The information on the Move Groups pages can help determine if the applications and compute instances are appropriately assigned to each move group for migration to the cloud.

Steps

Navigate to Move Groups, Move Group List and click an analyzed move group in the list.
Click the Inventory Summary tab.

Use this high-level overview to verify the content of a move group.
In Compute Instances by Application:
Provides a list of devices to be moved.
Export the list to attach to a work order.
In Compute Instances by Custom Group:
This information is only available if custom groups have been created.
Click the Detailed Network Data tab.

In Network Conversations and Endpoints:
You can use this information to create a custom analysis.
For example: Identify the dependent compute instances and the associated subnets.
Navigate to Move Groups, Analysis Summary.

In Move Groups by Application and Compute Instance Count:
Provides an inventory of the move groups that have been created and analyzed.
In Network Throughput:
Details network throughput between each move group.
Use these details to estimate bandwidth used between groups, to help answer questions such as:
Are the move groups independent enough to move them separately? Or do they have to be moved together or redefined?
Is the level of communication ok, or do adjustments need to be made?
If you determine that changes need to be made to any move groups, modify those groups.
